česky / English

Bilingual education enables children to learn both languages in an English-Czech environment during the daily program. The process of learning happens naturally during all activities and communication with Czech and English speaking teachers and classmates. The progress in both, mother and foreign languages is enabled within easy and illustrative communication.
Reggio Emilia Approach for early childhood education comes originally from Italy and is recognized and adopted in many English-speaking countries. The philosophy employs natural curiosity and the creative potential of children in their education. All the learning is very spontaneous and joyful, decided from theme projects that are born from the children’ interest. The areas of their fascination could be the world of animals or plants, the universe, light and shade, stories etc. We look for information in books but especially in the real world, we research, discuss, make artifacts and drama plays. Through the children’s eyes we learn about the world around us and we become its co-creators.

Lizards class

Bc. Hana Pokorná

She already worked with children younger than school age as an instructor of oriental dance, but the real impulse for this work was her au pair stay in the UK. After that she has begun studying pre-school pedagogy at Masaryk University and at the time of the study fortuitously came to work in Safirka. It totally enchanted her and she would like to develop children in all aspects in this friendly environment and also help them paint their own picture of life.

Favorite motto: "While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about."

Kamila Kopečková

When I should choose my field of studies and what I want to do in my future, preschool education was the right choice. For two years I taught in kindergarten in Prague, but I came back to Brno, where I feel better. I like drawing, singing and dancing. These activities help me to create creative programs for children and I also enjoy it. Working in kindergarten is pure happiness for me and also the option how to be a child again for few moments, which are and always will be the most important moments in children´s and our life.
Motto: “Game is one of the most effective ways how to make our life easier. We did it as children but we have forgotten to play as adults.”

Jitka Vavrušová

As I'm oldest of five siblings ,so therefore, I was always around kids. After I became mother of 3 I graduated on Faculty of Education - preschool pedagogy and social pedagogy.
Personaly I perceive in children their endless energy, imagination and inspiration for whole society. I appreciate the opportunity to become a member of Safirka team. It is my everyday pleasure to see children discovering world around us. Amazing child's world full of movement, fantasy and creativity!

Moles class

Bc. Zuzana Nováčková

Zuzana began working with children as temporary work during her university studies. She spent four years working in a family with seven children. After this experience she went to the Diocesan Youth Centre where she worked with the youth for two years. Then, she began studying Preschool Education at Masaryk University and also began working part-time in Safirka, where she is now her fourth year and this year (2015) began working full time in the little Moles class.

"I like to marvel, step into puddles, dig with a stick into the ground... and with the children I can do it often. I like to learn, observe ... I even learn from the children, from what they tell me or how they react, from their worldview and their logic. I learn even from their parents and from their approach to children, from colleagues, because we are all different. With children I share the idea that every moment in life is precious - children know it naturally and enjoy every moment. I had to go back to this realization. Life is a wonderful gift."

Mgr. Monika Reichstäterová

I studied at Masaryk University in Brno, specializing in Art Education and special pedagogy (speech therapy and surdopedy). During my studies, I worked as an assistant lecturer of children's art and a ceramics club. I started to work as a part-time teacher at Safirka right from the founding of the school, and in September, I joined full-time. I am returning to Safirka after five years of maternity leave. Working with children is fulfilling for me and I enjoy it, together we create art projects. When working on projects, I support children in their own thought processes. Children desire to express themselves and leave their own unique mark, is fulfilled in class through art projects. Our kindergarten is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, and thanks to it, those desires are fulfilled. During these activities, many components are taught; manual skills, art skills or the development of creative thinking. Work here is surrounded by a wonderful collective of children and colleagues, in the beautiful environment of the Kohoutovice forests and it is very inspiring and enriching for me. I am thankful for the opportunity to be near children, help them and rejoice at the results of collaborative work and thanks to them I can see the world through their eyes.

Her focus to children and their art expression and perception of space and time became even stronger. Also because of the book and her co – author. Reggio Emilia was the best way she could go: „My ideas and assumptions about children perception and learning exactly fitted with the philosophy of Reggio. That´s why I´m so glad that I can be an art creationist right here.“ Children are the unlimited source of energy for her. She wants to give them freedom and space for creation together with awarness of boudaries and rules of behaviour. She wants children to interiorize that by expression of emotions in creating.

„Children are joy and hope of humanity to be more spontaneous, creative, more in movement, closer to a pure soul.“
